All clear!

Went to hospital again today for another X-ray. Took about two hours in total of waiting around but was finally given the all clear that the air has gone and my lung looks good :) yay!! 
Also asked them to check my wound as after showering today it looked a little soft and seeped a little. It was clear liquid so not pus, however I figured it best to be on the safe side. Good news, the wound is also fine,  a little tender but healing well. 

 Managed another good walk up the hill today too which is good. Was a little shocked to see my resting heart rate ranging between 78 and 90 today ( used my new oximeter) so think any exercise can only help. I guess that been laid about not doing much for so long has impacted my fitness more than I thought. Can't wait now to get the all clear for exercise and be able to start some proper exercise.

Ok, so this is really starting to get on my nerves now and has been brought to my attention after experiencing this feeling quite badly during a short walk to the post office today. It made me feel quite unfit and a little panicked.  I have a feeling in my throat (not sure if I have mentioned this before) and it feels like a ball or a small tablet is just lodged in my throat and won't go down. Anxiety and A&E

So... the past few days I have been having quite a lot of anxiety surrounding some pain and sensations in my right hand chest. I have written about this in a bit more detail in some of my pages, however wanted to share a quick update to my posts.  I had an intermittent pain between the right shoulder blade and my spine...a common pneumothorax symptom, and I had a dull ache in my side with a very persistent grinding sensation in my chest, which was quite familiar in feeling to the bubbling sensation I had during a collapsed lung.  I went online as you do to seek some reassurance and kept telling myself it was probably just a dull muscular ache. Day of the surgery

Please see the full page (link at top of page) for an updated version Nil by mouth by midnight A horrible phrase and one I hope not to hear all too often again. This was the first hurdle to overcome, and as someone with IBS who needs to eat regularly to avoid stomach upset, a huge challenge...or so I thought it would be. I awoke on the morning of the surgery with no hunger pangs and this continued for most of the day. Whether my sub-conscience had mentally prepared my body for this I'm not sure, but I was hugely grateful nevertheless! Drinking Water I would also like to add that my anaesthetist was kind enough to point out that although 'nil by mouth' includes water, I was allowed to drink water up to 4 hours prior to surgery.   I urge anyone who is unfortunate enough to have an afternoon surgery to check if this is ok for you as being hydrated certainly helps evade the hunger and at least allows for better veins for that anaesthetic.
